Our Journey

Hi Everyone,

This is out last update on this side of the world.  We’re leaving on Tuesday the 12th.  Our travel is Hartford,Ct, - JFK,ny - Frankfurt, Ger (refuel) - Singapore - Surabaya, Indonesia.  It’s a two day venture.

One of the ways I’m staying calm is to keep saying to myself, “I know we will forget something so no need to get nervous about it.”   Actually, it’s hard to say how we feel.  On the one hand, we have great excitement about stepping out in faith.  On the other, there is the sadness about saying goodbye to our loved ones.  And then there is the “unknown” factor.  No matter how much you try to image what it will be like, you know that you can’t.

Some things we do know and that is what we stand on.  We’ve seen God provide in so many ways in our journey so far.  God provided a house for us to live in after we sold our home.   We would have had to move out if the owners sold their house first.  (God provided a buyer for them the day after we released our VISAs  :)  We know that although Carol quit her job and I stepped down from New Hope, the Lord has provided for our needs miraculously.  We know that the Lord helped Renee transfer to another college smoothly and before we had to leave.  The Lord was even gracious enough to let me see the High School soccer team that I coached for 7 years win the State finals.  The first one in school history.  I would have gladly left as we planned, but I must admit that was a real joy for me.  Our Father loves to see us have joy!!  (By the way that team was ranked 23rd in the country! I love those boys!)

Then there’s the “internet” manna and place for Renee to stay, I could go on and on.  Our God is a great God who has called us to GO!!!!

That’s all for now!!!!   See you on the other side (OF THE WORLD!)

Our Journey

Hey Guys,

When we first started out on our journey I said to Carol, “It like we are standing on the edge of a cliff getting ready to jump.  And our friends are saying, “This is great go for it!” But ultimately we are the ones who are jumping!”   Well, it took us a longer to get to the very edge than we thought and now that we are there, jumping is harder than we thought.  It’s not so much the jump that is hard it’s what we are leaving behind that makes it hard.  Oh, we’re jumping, no doubt.  But saying goodbye to Rachel and Renee and our family is way more difficult than we could have anticipated.

With that said, all praise, honor and glory to the King of King and our Lord of Lords, JESUS!!!  There is a line I wrote a little while ago,

“Good-byes fill our eyes with tears and

we know there will be many more fears

But God hears, He cares,

The trinity holds ONTO WHAT IS THEIRS.”

HE DOES, HE HAS, AND HE WILL FOREVER!

With that said, we would ask you to please pray for our transition as we leave (this month).  Especially, for Carol and our children: That their hearts would be covered with God’s grace and mercy.  Pray for a supernatural anointing that will lift them up above the sadness and fears.

Much love,

Donald

Hi Guys,

Sorry, It been a while since I've updated. I promise I will update more regularly (once a month at least).  If you didn't receive my last video update about 8 weeks ago, please email me at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Well basically, we are ready to go.  We have sold our home, passed our physicals, sent our girls off to school, raise sufficient funds (there's always more needed) and now we are waiting for our VISAS.  "WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF WAITING."

We wanted to leave in the month of October and, being Americans, we place value on being on time.  Indonesia is on a different schedule and, I guess, God is too.  So we wait.

We want to thank everyone who has prayed (please continue to do so) and are supporting us.  We couldn't have done this without your love and support.

We pray the Lord blesses you!

Donald and Carol
